Listening to Kate Bush’s A Coral Room always turns me into a sobbing mess.
Been a while since I’d heard it because of that reason. It hit me again this time. Hard. One of those songs that bring out emotions you’re not even aware of. Really powerful emotions.
Possibly the most heartbreaking song I know but still beautiful. Only Kate can do that.
I dug up this old photo today. Taken in Madrid outside the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in 1998. Do you think the man in the background is Robert Hughes? He died yesterday, one of Australia’s major art critics and historians. He wrote books on Barcelona and Goya among many other subjects.
I’m happy with this piece I’ve made from recycled materials. I made the glass beads from a blue glass wine bottle and used recycled copper wire.
I’ve scored 2nd this year with a set of 5 beads similar to those in the last post. I’m really pleased with this as I wasn’t completely satisfied with them. Well done to all the other entrants. I can’t wait to see them all in person when we visit the show next week.
These beads have been accepted for the ISGB “Three by Two” exhibition to be held at the Gathering in Bellevue, Washington. I’m very excited to see what the Seattle metal smiths come up with.
To the following artists whose work has been selected for the Three x Two exhibit:
Cute little visitor to or place today. The wet weather has seen lots of grass (and weeds) growing in the bush. The wallabies are enjoying the bounty!
Kate Bush - Eider Falls at Lake Tahoe - Animation (by KateBushMusic) The most beautiful creation from the amazing Kate Bush. For those of you who haved loved a special dog….(miss you Zolton).
Tori’s LITTLE EARTHQUAKES came out 20 years ago.
(I was her guest in the audience of this recording, done for the Jonathan Ross show in 1992. She was so nervous. We were kids who liked talking to each other, so much, and she loved Sandman and I loved that she’d put me in a song. It seems like yesterday.)
